The Tiny System with Huge, Precise Response
Inside each durable polycarbon MX speaker enclosure, you’ll find a .63-inch pure titanium hybrid tweeter for precise, rich high frequencies and a 2.5-inch aluminum woofer for low distortion midrange and bass performance. Each two-way MX speaker has a maximum power handling of 100 watts, allowing it to work well with a wide variety of amplifiers. The MX speaker is finished in stylish high-gloss black with an elegant cloth grill which attaches and removes magnetically. The integrated dual key-way mount provides for wall or stand mounting (stands optional).

However, the fact that Mirage was able to apply its unique Omnipolar technology to a product this size is the most impressive feature of all, and is what makes these small audio speakers sound huge and immersive. At the core of Omnipolar technology is the patented Omniguide module, which has two deflectors. While one deflector rests on top of the speaker’s tweeter, the tweeter itself is housed in a deflector, suspended over the woofer. These combined elements distribute sound directly towards the listener, simultaneously reflecting it off walls, ceilings and other surfaces. This results in a 360-degree soundstage that evenly permeates the listening environment.

The MX system’s MM-6 subwoofer employs an 800-watt amplifier, dual 6.5-inch black anodized aluminum passive radiators and a 6.5-inch black anodized aluminum cone woofer with an inverted Ribbed Elliptical Surround; all engineered to deliver tight, powerful bass response with low distortion. The subwoofer also includes a proprietary protection circuit, letting you achieve clear bass at all volume levels. A low pass filter with bypass mode allows the subwoofer to blend perfectly with the other MX speakers, using the built-in crossover or a home theater receiver. All of this makes the MM-6 the perfect mate for the MX speakers and a perfectly integrated 5.1 home theater speaker system.

Mirage's Omnipolar approach to speaker design brings unprecedented performance to a variety of product sizes and room positions. This 360-degree sound philosophy works with your room, rather than against it, to create the proper proportion of direct and reflected sound. This design embraces and optimizes reflections, offer excellent imaging, width and depth. These speakers perform optimally regardless of where they are placed in a room. The patented Omniguide module is an ingenious design that involves two deflectors. Ribbed Elliptical Surround Technology
Patented Ribbed Elliptical Surround technology increases excursion, eliminates distortion and raises efficiency on Mirage woofers and subwoofers. The Elliptical Surround encompasses the cone, allowing it to move identically in both directions, resulting in near-zero distortion. And while conventional designs are often plagued with surround dimpling, which causes them to radiate in and out of phase and distort at all listening levels, Mirage designs aren’t influenced by dimpling at all. The proprietary Ribbed Elliptical Surrounds allow for a larger cone surface, resulting in greater efficiency. This design also lets the cone achieve greater peak-to-peak movement, allowing it to travel more than double the distance of the competition. These attributes enable Mirage woofers and subwoofers to move incredible amounts of air, ultimately allowing them to play lower frequencies with greater bass extension and fidelity.
